Minnesota Frog & Toad Calling Survey (MFTCS)

MFTCS logo

The DNR's Nongame Wildlife Program is sponsoring an ongoing state-wide study of Minnesota's frogs and toads. Since 1996, volunteers across Minnesota have collected data by listening to and identifying frog and toad species on specified 10-stop routes. The results of this ongoing study will provide information on where species are located throughout the state, and how their populations change in abundance and distribution.

Recruitment for the 2008 survey ended on May 1st. Please contact Krista Larson at 651-259-5120 or krista.larson@dnr.state.mn.us if you are interested in participating in the survey next year. For a map of route locations in the state, please CLICK HERE.
