Lodging reservations

Fees A deposit of up to two nights' lodging cost is charged when a reservation is made. A non-refundable $8.50 reservation fee is included in the deposit. Any remaining balance due will be paid at the park upon arrival.

Lodging reservations may be made up to one year in advance of your first night's stay.

Making a reservation

Lodging reservations can be made from one day to one year in advance by phone (8 a.m. to 8 p.m.), seven days a week. Online reservations can be made 24 hours a day, except for the first day a reservation becomes available. On the first day, reservations cannot be made online before 7 a.m. Checkout time is 1 p.m.

Types of lodging facilities

• Guesthouses or cabins at Bear Head Lake, Fort Ridgely, St. Croix, Itasca, Scenic, Savanna Portage, Tettegouche and Wild River State Parks.
• Lodging, cabins, motel rooms at Itasca State Park. Check facilities and fees.
• Camper Cabins - Reservations accepted 1 to 365 days in advance
• Youth Hostels - Hi Youth Hostel in Itasca State Park

Note: Pets are not allowed in any of these state park lodging facilities.

Information required to make a reservation

You will need the following information to complete your lodging reservation:

• Arrival date
• Your phone number
• The name of the park where you wish to stay
• Which unit you would like to reserve (The operator can supply information on facility accommodations and what restrictions apply)
• Special needs of physically disabled persons in your party
• Length of stay
• Number of people in your party (number of adults, number of children)

Arrival time

Lodging reservations are valid until 8 p.m. the date of your arrival. If you are delayed, call the park to avoid losing your reservation.

What if I have to cancel my reservation?

To cancel your reservation, call 1-866-85PARKS or log onto your account online at www.stayatmnparks.com. There is a $10 cancellation fee. Please note also that the $8.50 reservation fee is non-refundable.

Cancellation 30 days or more prior to arrival

If the lodging reservation is canceled 30 days or more prior to arrival, a $10 cancellation fee is charged and the initial deposit (minus the cancellation fee and the $8.50 reservation fee) is refunded.

Cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival

If the lodging reservation is canceled less than 30 days but more than 14 days prior to arrival, a refund of 50% of the deposit, (minus the $10 cancellation fee and the $8.50 reservation fee) is refunded.

Cancellation less than 14 days prior to arrival

If the lodging reservation is canceled less than 14 days but more than 2 days prior to arrival, a refund of 25% of the deposit, (minus the $10 cancellation fee and the $8.50 reservation fee) is refunded.

Cancellation less than 2 days prior to arrival

If the lodging reservation is canceled less than two days prior to arrival there will be no refund.
