Group camp reservations

Group Camps

• Most parks with camping facilities also have at least one group camp area perfect for family reunions, scout troops, and other groups that want to set up multiple tents in close proximity to one another.
• Some parks have group centers which must be reserved by calling the park directly.
• The number of tent sites at each group camp varies from two at some parks to as many as 10 at Wild River.
• Group camp sites include picnic tables, fire rings, rustic toilets and water.
• Group camps are not available at these state parks: Banning, Flandrau, Fort Snelling, Franz Jevne, George Crosby Manitou, Hill Annex, Judge Magney, Monson Lake, Soudan Underground Mine, Split Rock Lighthouse and Temperance River.

New this summer! Beginning June 2, 2008, camping and lodging reservations may be made up to one year in advance. Planning ahead just got easier.

Reserve online: www.stayatmnparks.com 24-hours-a-day except for the first day a site becomes available. On that first day, reservations cannot be made before 8 a.m.

Fees and Deposits

Group Camp Fees:

• For most group camps: A non-refundable reservation fee of $8.50 and a deposit of $3 per person or $50 per night (whichever is greater) for the entire length of stay are due at the time the reservation is made.
• At Lake Carlos and William O’Brien state parks, a non-refundable reservation fee of $8.50 plus a deposit of $50 or $75 per night for the entire length of stay (depending on which of the two group area in each park is being reserved) is due at the time the reservation is made.
  • Lake Carlos Pioneer group area and William O’Brien Wedge Hill group area rent for $50 per night.
  • Lake Carlos Lakeview group area and William O’Brien Riverside group area rent for $75 per night.

Cancellation Information

• Cancellation 14 days or more in advance: If the group camp reservation is canceled 14 days or more prior to the arrival date, a $10 cancellation fee is charged and the customer is refunded the remaining amount of the deposit less the $8.50 non-refundable reservation fee.

• Cancellation less than 14 days in advance: If the group camp reservation is canceled less than 14 days prior to the arrival date, the first night’s camping fee is forfeited, a $10 cancellation fee is charged, and the customer is refunded the remaining amount of deposit less the $8.50 non-refundable reservation fee.
• Cancellation less than 14 days in advance: For cancellation of a one-night reservation less than 14 days prior to the arrival date, the entire camping fee is forfeited.
