Park Notes

Tour Information: Hill Annex offers two different tours: a fossil tour and a mine tour by bus. Each tour is 1.5 hours in length and is offered on Wednesday through Saturday during May 20 through September 5, 2009. The fossil hunt begins at 10 a.m., the mine tour is at 12:30 p.m. and at 3 p.m. Tour rates are $10 per person for adults, $6 per person for children 5-12 years old, and free for children under 5. Advance reservations can be made online or by phone through the reservation service. The reservation fee is $8.50 and up to 10 spots on a tour can be held with one reservation. Some spots on each tour are kept available on a first-come, first-served basis. Group tours also available in spring and summer by special arrangement with the park.

Getting There

Entrance to the park is on the north edge of Calumet along State Highway 169, halfway between Grand Rapids and Hibbing.
