New McQuade Road Public Access opening

Track: The long-awaited grand opening of the McQuade Road Small Craft Harbor on Lake Superior is set for Friday at 2 pm with numerous dignitaries on hand including DNR commissioner Mark Holsten. The new facility is located on scenic Highway 61 and McQuade Road about 10.5 miles north of the Duluth Harbor.
The access features a park-like setting and includes a three-acre harbor where small craft can seek protection from storms, three protected ramps for boat launching, a kayak launching area and adjustable docks.
DNR Harbor Program manager Larry Killien (Kill-lean) says he expects the new facility will be an exceptional resource for years to come."
