Hunting
Many Minnesotans enjoy hunting for the thrill of discovery and to enjoy Minnesota's resplendent outdoors. To make hunting more accessible, people with certain physical disabilities--such as those requiring the use of crutches, a wheelchair, or bottled oxygen--are exempt from some hunting regulations, such as restrictions on using a crossbow and shooting from a motor vehicle. To qualify for one of the special permits for hunters with disabilities, you and your doctor need to fill out an application, available online or from the DNR Information Center.
All temporary and permanent disability permits to shoot from a stationary motor vehicle expired January 1, 2001. New restrictions now apply for obtaining these permits. For more information on permits and exceptions for people with disabilities, contact the DNR Information Center.
