Forest Certification

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has been awarded the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC This link leads to an external site.) and Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI This link leads to an external site.) third-party certification on 4.84 million acres of state-administered forestlands.

Certified lands include the DNR's state forests, administered by the Division of Forestry, and wildlife management areas, administered by the Division of Fish and Wildlife. Certification will increase the social, economic, and environmental value and marketability of the state's forest resources.
